Meet the Artist
Alma Aguilar
Throughout the years, I have dabbled in many art forms and different medias, but I always come back to clay. There’s just something so healing and all-consuming about it. It’s been a part of my life for nearly two decades. Now, with my home studio, I have all the resources I need to produce one-of-a-kind works of art.
I was born in Juarez, Mexico, and moved to the United States at the age of four. I grew up in Kansas City, then moved to the Denver area in 2015. My background is in graphic design, web design, and branding. From time to time, I still take design clients. However my energy is solely focused on growing a thriving pottery business.
FAQ
-
What types of clays are used?
We use B-mix white clay with grog. It's a soft white clay with a small amount of fine particles mixed in for added strength. We also love using Charcoal black clay. It comes out dark black and has a gritty texture when left unglazed.
-
What types of glazes are used?
90% of our glazes are custom made at our studio. We also use pre-made glazes, gold lusters, and metallic details. We enjoy crisp, moody colors, like blacks, whites, and blues. But also greens, purples, pinks, and reds.
